Thomas CAWOOD was born in about 1797 at Crich, enlisting in the Dragoon Guards in about 1822 when aged 25. His occupation was "turner".
The Invalid Register dated 18 June 1828 records him: having served 6 years 9 months; 5ft 9½in; brown hair; hazel eyes; fair complexion.
He was of delicate appearance
and sedulous habit. (note: dedicated and diligent)
