Charles DENNY is a mystery. His Army record states he was born at Crich and his father was Paul. No-one with the name of DENNY has been found in any Crich, or Derbyshire, records to date.
The only information is from his Army Record:
Charles DENNY enlisted into the 15th Infantry Brigade on 8 November 1878; born at Crich, aged 20 years 8 months, a farm labourer. He was discharged on 7 November 1890.
He was 5ft 6½in tall; fair complexion, grey eyes, light hair; C of E.
He served in India for over 8 years.
Next of kin – father Paul of Saxmundham, Suffolk,
