John NOBLE, boiler-maker of Crich, enlisted at Lincoln on 20 November 1856 aged 21 and 10 months. He was discharged on the 28th April 1857 after 160 days by reason of consumption. His conduct was good.
He was 5ft 10in; light brown hair; hazel eyes; fresh complexion
From his record his approximate year of birth was 1834.

From his Army record his approximate year of birth was 1834. The only Crich baptism found about this time was:
John NOBLE son of Mary NOBLE, born 14 December 1829, baptised 14 December 1845 when he was about 17 years old.
There must be some doubt as to whetherthis is the correct baptism.
