News had been received by Mrs. M.I. Wilson. "The Bower", Crich, that her husband, S/Ldr. Henry Wilson, RAF., Has been awarded the M.B.E. (Military Division) in the King's birthday honours list.
S/Ldr. Wilson joined the RAF at the outbreak of hostilities in Sept. 1939, and has served in Iceland, France, Belgium and Holland.
At the present time he commands a unit in the 2nd Tactical Air Force in North-West Germany. He has previously been twice mentioned in dispatches for devotion to duty during the eraly days of the European invasion.
Prior to the outbreak of war S/Ldr. and Mrs. Wilson resided at South Wingfield.
