Assessments on curates and vicarages 1558

The National Archives has a parchment book of eight folios containing a combined assessment of benefices, schedule of defaulters and assessment of curates for the first instalment of the clerical subsidy granted to Philip and Mary in 1558, for the diocese of Coventry and Lichfield. (Ref. E179/19/506)

The first monetary value may represent the assessed wealth of Crich and the second and third the payments to be made. If so it would give a very interesting snap shot of the relative wealth of the vicarage.
