Will of William Hill of Washington dated 1706

In The Name of God Amen ye Tenth day of July in ye year of our Lord God One Thousand seven hundred and three I William Hill ….? Of Washington in ye parish of Crietch and County of Derby being of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be God for it do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.

Imprim I do give and bequeath unto Georg Hill my son Ten pounds to be paid to him or his assigns by my Executor within one year after my decease.

Also I give unto John Hill ye son of ye aforesaid George Hill ye summe of Ten pounds to be paid when he shall attain to ye age of Thirteen years to him or his assigns.

Also I give unto Thomas Hill ye son of ye aforesaid George Hill ye summe of five pounds to be paid when he shall attain ye age of Thirteen years to him or to his assigns.

Also I give unto my son George Hill his two daughters Mary Hill and Eliz: Hill each of them Twenty shillings.

Also I do give unto my son Thomas Hill one Close or parcel of land called by ye name of ye nether partridge dole lying in Washington with all ye Tithes of corn and hay and all other appurtenances belonging thereto unto him and his heirs for ever, I also do give unto my son Thomas Hill one close of land called by ye name of Butterfield lying in Brackenfield with all appurtenances thereunto belonging to him.

Also I do give unto Ellin Taylor my daughter one close of land called by ye name of nine half acres lying in Washington with all ye tithes of corn and hay during her natural life and after her death I give it her daughter Ellin Taylor and to her heirs for ever with all appurtenances thereunto belonging.

Also I do give unto my loving wife Anne Hill during her natural life two closes one called by ye name of Blackshaw and ye other by ye name of moore piece with all ye Tithes of corn and hay thereof, Also I give unto my wife two of my best cowes and ye disposal of ye same according to her own discretion, with convenient standing for them during her natural life, And I give unto my wife two rooms in my dwelling house ye nether parlor and ye Chamber over it during her life, and I give unto her all my household goods to dispose of at her own discretion.

Also I do give unto Thomas Hill my son Ten pounds to be paid to him at ye end of one year after my wife’s decease.

And lastly I give unto William Hill my son all ye rest of my lands and personal estate yt I have not bequeathed and I do make him my son William Hill my sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, And I do hereby revoke disannul and make void all former Wills and Testaments either in words or writing by me heretofore made
