Will of Ralph Radford dated 1633 (or 1626)

Ralph (Raffe) was the son of Roger and Margery Radford

He married Joan (d 1634) and had five children: Roger, Dorothy ,Mary ,William and Margaret

In the name of God Amen: I, Ralph Radford of Woodhouse in the parish of Horsley being sick in body but of good and perfect memory, God be praised do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following.

First I bequeath my soul  unto God my maker, and to Jesus Christ my redeemer and saviour and my body to be buried in the Church or Churchyard of Horsley.

Inprimis I give and bequeath unto the poor of this parish three shillings fore pence

Item I give unto Roger, my son , one cow in his possession & Alice my apparel & twelvepence

Item I give and bequeath unto William Harvie & Margaret his wife either of them twelvepence

Item I give and bequeath unto Edward Alin & Dorothy his wife
either of them twelvepence

Item I give and bequeath unto William Wilson of Denby
twelvepence

Item I give and bequeath unto each one of my childrens, children1 six pence also
my will is that if Joan, my now wife, do marry again my will is that
John Radford, son of William Radford shall have the one half of the Messuage
wherein I now dwell, with all and singular other the premises there unto
Belonging, according to a deed being this date the first day of June
in the year of our lord 1609.

Also I do make and ordain Joan my wife, my one sole executor also I make and ordain William Harvy and Edward Alin overseer of this my last will and testament in
Witness wherof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this six and twentieth
day of April in the year of our lord 1626
