Will of George Walker dated 1848

This is the last will and testament of me George Walker of Crich,in the county of Derby; farmer. I give and devise and bequeath all my real estate to my eldest son William Walker, his heirs or assigns, subject nevertheless to the payment to my executors and to the survivor of him or his executors or administrators during the lifetime of my daughter Phoebe Walker of the sum of four shillings weekly and every week, and to commence at the expiration of one week from my decease which said weekly I direct shall be paid and applied by my executors for and towards the maintenance and support of my said daughter Phoebe Walker in such a way and manner as they or the survivor their his executors or administrators shall think most concerning to her comfort and welfare. And as for and concerning all my personal estate from and after my decease, I give and bequeath one equal per seventh part thereof unto my grandson Joseph Lambert, one other part thereof unto my daughter Elizabeth Higgott, one other part or seventh to Sarah the daughter of my son James. One other seventh part thereof to my son John Walker. One other seventh part thereof unto and equally amongst the children of my late son George Walker, deceased; and the remaining part thereof unto and equally amongst the children of my late daughter Ann Hill, deceased; and I hereby appoint my son William Walker,and my grandson, Joseph Lambert, executors of this my last will, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand this tenth day of may one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.

Signed by the said George Walker in our presence and at the same time we at the same time and in the presence of each other subscribing our names as witnesses
